Together with Henriëtte van der Horst, Aafke de Groot and Coes Delprat, Arko Oderwald has developed courses to train doctors by using novels films and poetry. The following topics are possible:
- Medical education
- Moral dilemma’s in practice
- Unexplained bodily complaints
- End of life
- Doctor-patienrelationship
- Narrative medicine (an interactive workshop)
- The physician as detective (about the diagnostic process)
In addition to this general offer we have developed courses for general practitioners in several cities in Europe. These course are based on the general courses but specialized more on medical topics. And they are in Dutch, but can easily be transformed into English. For 2022 Judith Rosmalen en Arko Oderwald have developed from 11 – 15 June an English course about psyche and soma in Viennese novels.
